Our Savior and The Holy Ghost

Why is Jesus Christ Important in my life?

Jesus Christ was chosen to be our Savior. His Atonement makes it possible for us to be resurrected and to repent and be forgiven so we can return to our Heavenly Father’s presence. In addition to saving us from our sins, Jesus Christ, our Savior, also offers us peace and strength in times of trial. He sets the perfect example for us, and His teachings are the foundation for happiness in this life and eternal life in the world to come.

Cayla started our lesson by having us all think about Christ-like attributes. We came up with a good list which included: Love, Charity, Patient, Forgiving, Humble, Faithful, Selflessness, Joyful, Peace, Grateful, Tolerant, Obedient, and Forgiving. We should all be striving to work on all of these attributes and some of them may be stronger than others in our lives. Cayla shared that she wanted to work on being more Forgiving and we watched the following video to emphasize what a powerful attribute it can be.

"FORGIVENESS"

What are the Roles of the Holy Ghost?

The Holy Ghost, a member of the Godhead, bears witness of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. He is the source of personal testimony and revelation. He can guide us in our decisions and protect us from physical and spiritual danger. He is known as the Comforter, and He can calm our fears and fill us with hope. Through His power, we are sanctified as we repent, receive saving ordinances, and keep our covenants. It is through the influence of the Holy Ghost that we receive knowledge of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and feel Their power, goodness, and love.

Sister Elgan led us in this discussion about the Holy Ghost. We talked about the third member of the Godhead and what his characteristics are. Here are some things that we listed:
He whispers, He is a comforter, He warns us, confirms truth, gives peace, understanding, and other gifts.

*It is important to remember that his influence can be felt in subtle, quiet, and calm ways. There can often be noises that will prevent us from hearing the whisperings of the Holy Ghost. Remember to do your best to keeps these "noises" to a minimum. Our language, loud music, and environment can all have a powerful influence on us.

YOUR CHALLENGE THIS WEEK:
*Pick an Attribute of Christ that you want to work on this week.
*Choose a "noise" that you are going to remove so you can be better able to hear the Holy Ghost when he speaks to you.
